The Roaming Eyes of Chippenham CCTV

While many of us enjoy the festive season and the streetsare full of merry making, the Chippenham cameras are working overtime. SecurityWatch are the men and women behind the scenes controlling the eyes on thestreet and keeping the public safe while also looking after many localbusinesses through Alarm Response, Key Holding, Mobile Patrol and MannedGuarding.

Eddy Lawrence Director of Security Watch commented "We workclosely with the police to ensure we target crime and help people who may getinto difficulty from a little over indulgence at this festive time. It is animportant part of keeping Chippenham safe and we want to make sure everybodyhas enjoyable but safe festive celebrations".

The cameras will be busy the last week before Christmas withshoppers, party revellers and carols by the Christmas tree on Wednesday 21stDecember, which will see the long awaited fireworks which had to be cancelledat the Christmas light switch on due to bad weather. The fireworks will startat 4.30pm with traditional Christmas carols in the market place at 4.00pm.

Rob Elkins, Chippenham BID Director and Chair of Welcoming,Safe and Clean BID Sub-Committee said " In addition to the close work we dowith Security Watch there are also safe places within the town where the publiccan go if they are feeling upset or unwell when they are out in the town, theseare identified by a Safe Sticker in the window. There is also a Safe Zone inChippenham which is coordinated by the Chippenham Street Pastors providing medical care and a safe place between 10pm -3am on 23rdand 31st December at the Methodist Church, Monkton Hill".
